We're trying to implement skippable video ads and it's been more effort than it seems like it should be.
The ad networks, ad server, and player are all pointing fingers at each other.
The common response that we've gotten is that the player--we use Ooyala--should be able to do this.
They can't really; under perfect circumstances, they can, but this is ad ops and nothing is perfect.
So, I've tried to have one of my developers hack something together. His first pass was unsuccessful.
Does anyone have recommendations on how we might be able to code something that force skips video ads after five seconds?
Thanks for your help!

Can you please confirm if you're seeking help for an implementation/code that forces/display skip video ads immediately after 5 seconds as soon as the content plays? If yes, can you please elaborate a bit more on your implementation and share the below details?
1. Are you trying to serve these skip video ads on web or apps?
2. If you're trying to do this over the web then can you please share the web page URL where you're trying to serve these ads and suggest which version of Ooyala player are you using currently?
3. If you're trying to do over the apps, then can you confirm if it's IOS or Android and the version of the SDK that you've integrated with your app code currently?
4. Which ad server are you using? Where have you generated the ad tag URL's from that you're developer have implemented on your website or the apps?
Once I have the above-requested details, I'll proceed with my investigation.
