Directions on how to set up your iPad device and Safari on Mac OSX to show/inspect HTML code along with all web inspector tools available in Safari.

ENVIRONMENT

Device Compatibility iOS
Operative System Mac OSX
Browser Safari 6.0 and above

WORKAROUND

  1. In your iPad device, go to Settings -> Safari -> Advanced and enable ‘Web Inspector’.
  2. Open the web page that you want to inspect in Safari for iPad, and plug your iPad to the Mac machine you will use to inspect the web page using the USB cable.
  3. Open Safari, click on the ‘Develop’ option on the Menu, select the name of your device, and click on the web site you want to debug from your iPad device (http://cl.ly/image/3r2D1Q241v1Q).
  4. A Web Inspector window will appear showing you all available tools including DOM inspection, Network Traffic, Console, etc (http://cl.ly/image/2v2U1a0Y343Z).
