2015-08-05 Release

2015-08-05 Release

Notable changes for this release include a new DRM attributes route in the Backlot API that generates a PlayReady key_id and content_key.

New Route to Generate PlayReady Attributes for DRM Protection

The Backlot API has a new DRM attributes route for generating a PlayReady key_id and content_key.

You now have a way to generate a PlayReady key_id and content_key through Ooyala APIs. This route will generate a random key id and content key for the asset and associate them with the video. If you use this route, you will not have to use a PATCH route to store these attributes in Ooyala's datastore.

Note: For security reasons this route will only work over https. API calls made over
plain http will be rejected.

2015-09-18 Release

2015-09-18 Release

Notable changes for this release include updated support for VAST on the Ooyala mobile SDKs and updated Aspera documentation.

Software Feature Releases

Ooyala's support for VAST on the iOS and Android mobile SDKs for Player v3 has recently changed the way ad impressions are tracked in Ooyala Pulse. For podded ad sets like mid-roll ads, impressions are tracked when each individual ad in a podded ad set has started to play. This gives you a more accurate view of ad impressions tracked for sessions played through the Ooyala Player via iOS and Android applications.

Ooyala Release Notes 2015-10-15

2015-10-15 Release

Notable changes for this release include the new Discovery Insights features in Ooyala IQ and new Ooyala IQ documentation.

Software Feature Releases

Discovery Insights in Ooyala IQ

We are excited to announce new Discovery Insights functionality that is available as of today, October 15th, 2015. As an Ooyala Discovery user, if you are already benefiting from personalized video recommendations and receiving insights into engagement growth that are currently delivered as email reports, you will love the new and improved Discovery Insights, now available as part of Ooyala IQ.

Look for the Discovery tab inside the Business Intelligence page in Ooyala IQ and enjoy access to 17 new KPIs that give you an in-depth view of engagement growth and content performance. For example, the Discovery End Screen CTR (click-through rate) metric tells you the percentage of Discovery end screen recommendations that led to an additional play. You can also see the number of times each asset in your catalog was recommended and played via Discovery.

For details on how to view these metrics in Ooyala IQ, see the Discovery Insights tutorial video or read the new new Discovery Insights documentation.
