Disabling the Google IMA "Your video will resume shortly" message

by Community Manager on ‎08-17-2015 01:02 PM (681 Views)

By default, while a Google IMA ad is playing in the Ooyala player, a black banner will be displayed at the top of the video with a message reading "Your video will resume shortly".

In some circumstances, you may wish to disable this message. To do this, all you need to do is add a parameter to the Google IMA settings in the player. The parameter is "showAdMarquee", and to disable the banner, it should be set to false.

For an example of how this can be set when the player is created, see the Javascript example below. The showAdMarquee:false parameter is contained within the google-ima-ads-manager parameter collection, which itself is within the player parameters collection.

OO.Player.create('ooyalaplayer', 'k0amZ3cDqmZTyTM4iUSo-jfMM2lP405M', {"google-ima-ads-manager":{"showAdMarquee":false,"adTagUrl":"http://not-a-real-ad-tag-url"}});
